It seems that I do quite a few projects where I’m removing a tub and replacing it with a spectacular tile shower. That was certainly the case for this project in Bloomington, IN. My clients had been wanting to update this bathroom for some time and had been collecting plumbing fixtures and looking for just the right tile for their contemporary home.
Here’s the before and after photo:
The goal was to have very minimal lines and just do a simple layout. Rather than using bullnose tile, we used a Schluter metal trim called “Jolly” in satin nickel finish. This continues the simple layout by not using smaller bullnose tiles around the perimeter that change the minimal feel of the design.
You might notice that the shower valve is on the wall opposite the showerhead. My client wanted to be able to turn on the water without getting hit by cold water. Speaking of shower valves the plumbing fixtures are all from Grohe. Very nice!
My client found a vanity that is made from reclaimed pine wood. Simple, yet extraordinary! Adds a rustic feel to this otherwise very modern space.
